Community Service

Growing up between cultures gave me specific abilities โ€” and a sense of responsibility to use them. These are the ways I have tried to contribute to the communities that shaped me.

Autism Therapy Book Translation

Grade 10 โ€“ 11 ยท Tsinglin Practical Platform

Growing up between three languages taught me that translation is never just about words โ€” it is about access. As a volunteer translator on Tsinglin's Autism Therapy Book Translation Project, I translated therapeutic reading materials from English into Chinese, so that families of children with autism could reach educational and emotional-support resources that would otherwise stay locked behind a language barrier.

Expanded access to therapeutic and educational resources for Chinese-speaking families of children with autism.

  • Translated therapeutic reading materials from English to Chinese
  • Worked to preserve both clinical accuracy and emotional warmth in translation
  • Part of Tsinglin Practical Platform's volunteer translation program

National Honor Society โ€” Tournament Organizer

Grade 10 โ€“ 11

As a member and organizer in my school's National Honor Society chapter, I turned my longest-running passion โ€” soccer โ€” into service. With a teammate, I proposed and helped launch our school's first inter-house soccer tournament and ran more than ten school-wide matches: scheduling the games, forming balanced teams across the four houses, recruiting volunteers, setting up the field, and sourcing the trophies and medals that made every final feel like a real final. Recruiting enough girls to field four teams proved harder than the logistics, and expanding the girls' bracket is the next goal.

10+ school-wide soccer matches organized, bringing a sport that was everyday life in Sweden onto our campus.

  • Co-launched the school's first inter-house soccer tournament
  • Organized 10+ school-wide matches: schedules, teams, and student volunteers
  • Managed field setup and purchased trophies & medals

Stray Animal Charity Sale

Grade 9 โ€“ 10 ยท BIPH Student-Led

Together with classmates, I co-organized two student-run charity sales at BIPH to support stray animals. We gathered donated goods, ran the stalls, and used the events to talk with the school community about animal welfare โ€” raising over 3,000 RMB for an animal charity along the way.

3,000+ RMB raised for an animal charity across two student-led sale events.

  • Co-organized 2 student-run charity sales
  • Gathered donations and engaged community members on animal welfare
  • Raised 3K+ RMB for an animal charity
